Braving the cold for Chicago Artists Month

CW-USAC flyer

Myra Kalaw, of CUBIVINO and the URBAN SWAMP ART CART duo of Josh Baigelman & Al Steger team up to create a Portable NewsStand/Art Cart outside the largest news magazine store in Chicago, City News Stand & Cafe.
Instead of newspapers, Myra will be offering paper wallets made from newsstand items, & letterpressed COFFEE posters by Amos Kennedy, Jr. (Part of the wallet sales will benefit Hands to Help, a neighborhood organization that helps the homeless in Chicago’s Northwest Side.)
Josh & Al will be playing American Folk tunes with Traditionally inspired Bluegrass consisting of guitars, banjos, and mandolins. They will also be offering hand-knitted jewelry from Threaded Soul, African jewelry from the Maasai people of Kenya, collectable lapel pins from artists such as Phil Lewis, Jeff Wood, and The Headspace, art prints and photographs done by Christopher Thurston, and various essential oils.
CUBIVINO’s Portable NewsStand & Urban Swamp Art Cart is part of Chicago Artists Month 2013, the 18th annual celebration of Chicago’s vibrant art community presented by the Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events. For more information, visit www.chicagoartistsmonth.org.
